101 in 1001 update
I've completed some more goals. Here they are:
6. Get more involved in politics. (Someone asked me to be their campaign manager for the 2012 election year)
27. Get a cat. (His name is Torrence and I love him.)
31. Marry Joe Mauer. (Sadly, this one probably won't be accomplished. He recently got engaged...and not to me. But I suppose there is still a chance?)
93. Or watch Lost. (I've got 2 episodes left. It's going to happen.)
So I've completed 18 things. Guess I haven't accomplished as much as I thought. Wah wah.

Cue the tears...
Katy Perry tends to be my weakness. I would apologize for it, but hey, I just love a catchy pop song.
Given my current situation, this one makes me sad now.

I've got spirit!
I'm going to embrace the Halloween spirit and share my only ghost/spirit story.
My experience happened a few days after my grandpa passed away. I was 14 and he had passed away suddenly from a heart attack. It still bothers me to this day because I didn't have the chance to say goodbye or let him know how much I loved him. I only hope he knew.
But back to the story...he had passed away and I was not dealing with it well. I was crying pretty much constantly and just when the tears stopped, something would remind me of him and the hurt would come back in the form of tears. Anyways, one night I was crying myself to sleep for probably the 3rd night in a row, actually I think it might have been the night of his funeral, when I heard footsteps and all of a sudden this calm feeling came over me and I stopped crying and went to sleep. I am convinced it was my grandpa consoling me and letting me know he was okay.
So there it is. Happy Halloween, all!

wwnpd?
I recently had the privilege of going to Washington, DC, for work. It was a wonderful trip. I love my NARAL family and have made some friendships that will last for many years. I also had the opportunity to lobby for my organization to our state's legislators. Never thought I would be in that position. I got to meet/talk with the Executive Director of Emily's List, which is also a kick-ass organization, about the political climate in South Dakota. What an opportunity.
It was a trip that had my inner (or outer, I guess) political nerd geeking out. This picture sums it up nicely.
